Have stuff you need help fixing? Not sure where to start? Come see us at the City of Austin Fixit Clinic! Saturday 8/19 from 12-3pm.
Sewing repairs, gluing, mending—we can help you repair and reuse your beloved stuff! There will also be a “Take-Apart Table” where you can use the tools and expertise available at the clinic to take apart an item just for fun and to learn how it works.
The clinic coincides with Recycled Reads’ Back to School event.
Why buy new when you can have the satisfaction of fixing your own? Sign up!
Soooooo, now everyone wants less packaging! Yay! Who needs extra stuff on top of the thing that you most desire? No one! Do not hide my purchase in plastic or new resource paper—let my purchase be lovingly ensconced in my very own brought-from-home bag or a #zerowaste reusable status symbol!
David Merry donates his time and tools to the St. Paul Tool Library. David Merry donates tools & skills to St. Paul Tool Library. What is unique about this is the amount of tools and his willingness to pass on his skill set. What I like about this is it is set up as a membership. Members pay a $55 annual membership fee to work in the shop and check out tools. And, that is comes with help from knowledgeable #makers is a huge plus!
We have Loanables where you can rent extra equipment from your neighbors—we really need a #library where you can borrow the tools and learn HOW to use the tools. City of Austin would be a great place to start a tool lending library!
